We are Manchester Prairie Dogs – Manchester’s best LGBT+ Line Dancing Club!
A volunteer run non-profit club aimed at the LGBT+ Community and its allies, and where everyone is welcome. In 2025 we celebrate our 30th Anniversary.
We have members of all different ages – both beginners and more experienced dancers. We do charge a cover fee for attending as this covers our operating costs, but your first night is always free.
We dance on Tuesday evenings* upstairs at The Thompsons Arms on Sackville Street in the Village. There is a beginner’s session that starts at 7:30 where we’ll bring you up to date with our ‘oldies but goodies’ dances, and regular dancing then runs 8pm and 10pm. This session is run by our DJ Team who will take requests but also make sure everyone gets a chance to dance. There will be a teach most weeks too – this could be a beginner or a more advanced, and will be from more recent dances.
*We take a break for Christmas and directly after the August Bank Holiday weekend – keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages to stay up to date!
We also take part in, and host, a variety of events and activities throughout the year including our Outdoor Dancing on outside The REM Bar on Canal Street – which usually takes place monthly on Sundays from Spring through to Autumn. You may also see us performing at one of the Greater Manchester Pride weekends but the highlight of the Prairie Dogs Calendar is Manchester Pride: we perform both in the Parade itself and over the weekend in the Village.
Check out our Events page here on our website or on our Facebook page.
If you’re line dance curious, or a seasoned dancer wanting to get to know us, please come down and join us!
Looking forward to the Manchester Prairie Dogs at Manchester Pride 🙂
